2017 YEAR END UPDATE

Dear Friends,

We are so thankful to have the opportunity to share the statistics that describe Life Academy Ministries’ efforts in 2017 with those whose faithful support is reflected in this work.

“The Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10

In 2017, 18 more lost ones were saved by the Lord Jesus Christ because we have partnered together to seek them out with the Gospel. Since 2005, we’ve seen 167 people put their faith in Christ for salvation—an eternal “weight of glory” that we share with you all. “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow, as it judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 Since we began our independent ministry in 2005, Life Academy Ministries has been committed to teaching the Word of God systematically. We’ve given 2,624 face-to-face Bible studies with adults and teenagers in middle school, high school, church Bible studies, an assisted living facility, and a women’s safe house—with 203 of those occurring in 2017. In addition, 255 more mini-studies were delivered via social media last year, bringing the total to 1,565.

“Wisdom is of utmost importance, therefore get wisdom, and with all your effort work to acquire understanding.” Proverbs 4:7   

Wisdom is being able to apply a Christian worldview to everyday life situations. Life Academy Ministries has been publishing mini-lessons on social media since 2011 to help our Facebook friends hone their worldviews. Over 1,076 lessons on American History, US Constitution, Christian Apologetics, Radical Islam, American Exceptionalism, the accomplishments of Christianity, and the apostasy of Western Civilization since 2011, an increase of 416 in 2017. Current Events comprises another category of Facebook posts that has received 180,000 positive responses since we began posting systematically. In all, 9,050 posts on current events have been written—1,250 last year.

Life Academy Ministries has striven to provide the wise and righteous with tools to add to their wisdom. We have written and disseminated several original study guides for excellent books and have given them away at no cost to the recipients:

“The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus”

“5,000 Year Leap”

“Understanding the Threat of Islam”

“A Patriot’s History of the United States”

“History of the Founders” speech
In all, 232 pieces of our literature have been distributed. Recently we summarized “A Christian Survey of World History” for the Chalcedon Foundation, which they intend to disseminate.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” Psalm 32:8   

Keeping in mind that we are promised guidance from the Lord, we continue to educate others. We started 2017 tutoring one student each in grammar school, middle school, and high school, three former homeless single mothers, and one former student. Since September 2017, we’ve spent 128 hours in the classroom of a small Christian school nearby as volunteers with middle and high schoolers.

“Rescue those who are being led away to death, and save those who stumble toward slaughter.” Proverbs 24:11   

Life Academy Ministries has been active in independent, front-line street work on the Front Range in Colorado and in New York City since 2011. Over the course of 132 tours on the streets last year, God had blessed us to participate in 246 rescues of at-risk individuals—69 in 2017. Of particular notice, we believe, are the 5 minor females, 19 adult females, and one adult male rescued from active sex-traffickers. Above all, our focus is on the Gospel, and we are thankful to report that 106 times our street contacts have put their faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ to save them from hell. Eighteen were saved in 2017, thank God!
